The excavations (Demir baba teke)

The Chalcolithic Age was a period of the upsurge and innovations in the economic life: in metallurgy and agriculture,as well as in the extended trade. The relatively small settlements were densely built. In addition to the stone and flintstone tools, the use of copper tools started towards the end of that period. There were magnificent thin walled clay vessels with burnished surface, with incised and drawn ornamentation.Idol sculpture, represented predominantly by female figurines, reflects the important role of the fertility cult.
